A Health and Care Worker Visa will allow you to live and work in the UK for up to five years, after which you can either extend your visa or apply for Settlement.
What are the eligibility criteria for the Health and Care Worker Visa?
To qualify for the visa all of the below must apply:
- You are qualified doctor, nurse, health professional or adult social care professional
- Your job is eligible
- You will be working for a UK health and care sector employer that’s been approved by the Home Office
- You will be paid the minimum salary or the ‘going rate’ for the type of work you’ll be doing - whichever is higher
- You can speak, read, write and understand English
You can find out if your job is eligible here. The minimum salary is £20,480, however, each eligible occupation has a ‘going rate’, therefore, you will need to check that your salary matches this rate if it is over £20,480.
Can I bring my family with me to the UK?
Yes, you can bring your spouse/partner and any dependent children under the age of 18 years. You must show evidence that you can financially support your spouse/partner and dependent children in the form of having the below sums in your bank account for at least 28 days in a row when applying for their visa:
- £285 for your partner
- £315 for one child
- £200 for each additional child
You would also need to have £1,270 available to support yourself for your own application.
